| Originally opened under the control of the Somerset
Central Railway, Polsham was the only intermediate station on the short
single line Glastonbury
to Wells branch, consisting of a single platform
some 200 feet in length with a single storey brick built office at the
Glastonbury end of the platform. Adjacent to this was a two storey Station
Masters House built in the 1920s. There was also a level crossing at this
end of the station. Opposite the station platform on the down side of the line was a siding Control of the crossing gates and siding was from a local ground frame. |
