| Shoscombe and Single Hill Halt was a two platform halt
serving the nearby village. Both platforms were constructed of
pre-fabricated concrete sections and had no shelters, but both platforms
were lit by gas lamps. Access to the platforms was from footpaths either
side of the adjacent road bridge. There was a small ticket office and waiting room located at the end of the down platform footpath leading towards the village. In true Somerset and Dorset style, this was staffed by two sisters for the 37 years of the halts existence! |
